Some drawings I created to reflect thinking and conversations from projects and events.
Reducing Black Maternal Health Inequalities
On 19 June 2025, NHS South East London and Impact on Urban Health held a workshop at the Liberation Centre in Brixton. The event brought together Black mothers, birthing people and healthcare system leaders. Facilitated by JRNY Consulting and Black Mothers Matter, the aim was to co-design real solutions to the healthcare inequalities Black mothers and birthing people face in maternity and neonatal care.
Here are the visuals I created, reflecting some of the broader discussion themes:

Youth Forum for Faith & Ecology 2025
April 2025, London, UK

What happens when real conversations linger for longer?
I was stoked to return to The Faith & Belief Forum and produce some art for the Youth Forum for Faith & Ecology inaugural meeting. Their notes were already captured in rich detail by the group, so I focussed on highlighting the feel and aspirations from the meeting. At first it seemed like a typical brief – listen, synthesise, create some art, meet some surprises along the way…
As usual with the Forum, the conversations were deep and vast, paired with our mutual love for inter-cultural image and metaphor. In support of their next steps, we co-created a visual framework for mapping their climate space:

I’m pleased with these products especially for the thinking that’s sparked as a result, eg deeper reflection about resources and how to reframe these. And witnessing the ways that possibility grew from each conversation: tree rings, organic growth, temporal lines, table, London tube map, peaky mountains, aerial views, what’s visible/obscured from different perspectives.
If I could describe this project in one word: brain-jacuzzi. And I loved every minute of it.

Youth Interfaith Climate Summit 2025
February 2025, London, UK
Arting for The Faith & Belief Forum and their youth summit was pure joy. Joy and climate together? Yessss. The evening started with a human library of stories, where I connected with Liv Simpliciano and her own story about fast fashion, ancestry, identity and the personal purpose threading through her activism. The gathering was curated with stories and storytelling as the main substance. Climate work is swamped with data – how do we connect and feel, to move and act towards the futures we want? “Differences are held, not erased” – I love that.

Centre for Population Health Conference 2024
November 2024, Bradford, UK
This was one of the most heart-full events I’ve had the pleasure of drawing for. The power of community really pulsed through every detail of the event, bringing together so many different change-makers in health and justice across the UK. Stories, action and possibility… there’s plenty more about the event here: Centre for Population Health Conference 2024.

Lego Serious Play for Sustainability – by Climate Play
March 2024, London, UK
I joined forces with Climate Play to see what happens when drawing x lego comes together! Climate Play is all about making it safe, light and fun to face climate change. As part of their hands-on training programme, I got to butterfly around for a day, drawing insights in-the-moment for reflection and discussion in the room, plus a digital set that followed afterwards. I learned LOADS about climate psychology + lego + facilitation + business activism. Yes to all of that…

… Great folk, a top lunch (Roots + Shoots), birdsong, wearing my dungarees with all the pens I could fit in my pockets. “This is why we love what we do”, we said 🙂 For more lego play + inspiration for sustainability, follow Climate Play’s founder, Lucy Hawthorne on LinkedIn.
Navigating Sustainability’s Lingual Divide
March 2024, online event
This was another great global open-space conversation hosted by Perle Laouenan-Catchpole of NeedWorkshops and Marine Cornelis of Next Energy Consumer. It was a pleasure to move around the different conversations, draw and share reflections. We explored the impact of language and multi-culturalism on the global discourse around the climate crisis, along with ways of moving beyond English to navigate sustainability’s lingual divide.

Transforming the investigation of rape and sexual violence
November 2023, London, UK
I was invited by friend and fellow visual sense-maker, Julian Burton of delta7, to this event hosted by Scotland Yard, led by Prof. Katrin Hohl and Betsy Stanko OBE. Operation Soteria is a collaboration bringing together policing and evidence to transform the investigation of rape and sexual violence. Betsy reflected on her work in this field since 1970s and it was a sobering reminder of the perseverance and sustained effort needed for change. And that procedural justice matters. Her words about the culture in policing – as both an elephant in the room and policing’s banana skin [pic3] resonates with the work of change in all sectors.

COP23 Summit – Open Space debrief
December 2023, online event
I’m a big fan of open spaces, so I was delighted to draw for this citizens debrief following the United Nations climate summit COP23. The conversation was hosted by Perle Laouenan-Catchpole of NeedWorkshops and Lucy Hawthorne of Climate Play (do check this out for safe, fun and light ways to face climate change). This topic can feel too overwhelming to face, and I found this session so useful – a welcoming space for generative anger, urgency and togetherness that felt hopeful.

London Child Poverty Summit
October 2023, London, UK
Hosted by The Childhood Trust, this event brings together people working to relieve and disband poverty in London and across the UK. The 2023 summit spotlighted challenges faced by young people and the cost of living crisis. Since the event, there’s been promising news of the Mayor of London programme to extend universal free school meals to primary school children.

Conversation on Race + Class
July 2022, London, UK
This was very down-to-EartH conversation on race and class, hosted by journalist Gary Younge and writer Reni Eddo-Lodge. The event marked 5 years after Reni’s book: Why I’m no longer talking to white people about race.
A title speaking to ‘why’ demands an explanation, said Reni. It was so interesting to hear more about what was going on for her at the time of writing and her reflections since the book was first published in 2017. Emotion and context became more alive for me as I listened to the conversation between the writers.

Let’s keep arting…
I support events, conferences and workshops by drawing out what’s heard and what sparks dialogue. I also facilitate conversations and help people to draw out their own thinking, questions and insights (designed for total beginners!).
